Product development for sustainable aquaculture

Coppens International continuously works on the improvement of existing products and the development of new products. We do reseach on:

• feed formulations
• the replacement of fish meal and oil with alternative sources
• production techniques

Coppens Research Centre

All research is done in the Coppens Research Centre (CRC). Here the performance of existing and new diet formulations are tested. One of the top priorities  of Coppens'R&D department is the replacement of fish meal and fish oil with alternative sources. This project is very important to us because replacing the fish ingredients by alternative sources contributes to a sustainable aquaculture. Further, efforts are undertaken to improve the production techniques of aqua feed. New extrusion and coating techniques are explored to obtain a better product.
