Coppens Research Centre
The new 200m2 Coppens Research Centre is located in Valkenswaard. The Research Centre consists of several separate recirculation systems. With these advanced systems the Coppens research team can simulate all types of fish farming, regardless of location and water conditions: fresh- and salt water, cold- and warm water and all combinations of these conditions.
Feed experiments
In this facility fish feed experiments can be done on a continuous basis on all systems, like:
- salt water experiments
- mimic super intensive farm
- research with larvae
A number of systems exists of glass tanks, guaranteeing a maximal control of the fish, their feed uptake and other relevant behaviour.
Product development
New raw materials and latest product developments for currently farmed aquaculture species and ornamental fish species can be tested and evaluated in the Research Centre. The Coppens Research Centre is designed to support the continuous development of fish diets for the benefit of the fish, the fish farmers, and the environment.
